Celebrating Unity in Diversity
Remembering Sardar Patel
Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, commonly known as Sardar Patel, who served as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India from 1947 to 1950, was also known as the "unifier and the principal architect of modern India".
The 565 self-governing princely states under direct British rule had been released from British suzerainty under his leadership by the Indian Independence Act 1947. He used his skills to consolidate India,
which lay in a fragmented and fluid state at the time of independence in 1947. With his dire commitment to national integration, Patel persuaded almost every princely state to accede to India, earning him the nickname "Iron Man of India".
He is indeed the epitome of national unity and integrity. Participated In Several Movements Against Britishers, Vallabhbhai Patel was born on October 31, 1875, in Nadiad city of Kheda district, Gujarat. He was one of Mahatma Gandhi's earliest political lieutenants.
Remembering Sardar Patel
The emerging new India is vibrant, proactive and united in terms of shared value of Bhartiyata (Indianness). We believe that during the Amritkal, India can be model for Vishwa-ekatmata (Universal shared value). No development can be sustainable without achieving the peace and harmony and, therefore, the ’ekatmata’ remains at the core of development.
On 31st October, 2015,
while celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Divas to commemorate the birth anniversary of
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stated
that cultural diversity is a joy that ought to be celebrated through mutual interaction and
reciprocity between people of different States and UTs so that a common spirit of
understanding resonates throughout the country.
BHARAT BHARTI
The Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat programme of the Government of India, is making great efforts to strengthen the concept of Rashrtiya Ekatmata, which was started by Bharat Bharati in 2005. We believe that to realize the ‘New India One India’ vision of the Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, a national-level mass movement is required.
Bharat Bharati was started in 2005.
Bharat Bharati was registered as a Trust in 2010
Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi had blessed Bharat Bharati Program in 2011, when
he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Realizing the need for further dialogue to strengthen collective efforts on ‘Rashtriya Ekatmata’, the Bharat Bharati presents first Rashtriya Ekatmata Sammelan on the theme ‘New India, One India’, which will take place on 3rd August, 2023 at New Delhi while celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Rashtra Kavi Maithali Sharan Gupt.
Following the basic Concept of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ mooted by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Celebrate Diversity to Realise Unity, Bharat Bharati is working as the foot soldier to Strengthen Unity of our nation in Diversity.

Bharat-Bharati By Maithili Sharan Gupt
